Vale Laser are experts at Laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal is a highly effective long-term solution to unwanted hair. It is not just limited to your face, legs, underarm or bikini area, we can remove hair from virtually anywhere on your body. At Vale Laser we are able to treat all skin types with both men and woman. We also look to help people with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Hirsutism (Excess hair on woman only). Laser is also effective for the treatment of ingrowing hairs.

Vale Laser offer a course of virtually painless hair removal treatments, you can enjoy smooth, hairless skin with long term results. Laser hair removal can give you newfound confidence if you currently experience embarrassing facial hair or excess body hair.

The treatment works best on darker hair which contains more melanin, such as dark blonde, light brown, brown and black hair. The treatment is not effective on white or grey hair, due to the low melanin and therefore we do not recommend treatment on these hair colours.

Cooling gel is applies before the treatment to sooth the skin. The laser is targeted to the surface of the skin and there may be a slight stinging or tingling during the treatment.

The treatment is very quick and you should start seeing results after just one treatments. The frequency of the treatment is every 3-4 weeks.

How does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal works by destroying the base of the hair follicle which is the source of new hair growth. Laser treatment uses a continuous laser to heat the hair follicles to the point where the hair falls out. As the heat is not sustained, no damage is caused outside the follicle area. It is essential that the hair shaft is present in the hair follicle at the time of treatment for the hair to be treated effectively. Many follicles do not produce a hair but they do have the potential to do so and this is why even after permanent hair removal totally new hairs may grow.

A course of laser hair removal treatments can give you beautifully smooth skin. Initially your hair with grow back in line with normal hair growth cycles of 4 - 6 weeks dependent on your skin type. With each session, hair growth will be reduced and after a course of treatments you should only need a top-up treatment once a year. Effective laser hair removal is usually achieved over a course of 6 treatments.

It is important that you cut or shave the hairs on the area you are having treatment for more effective results. We do not recommend waxing, plucking or threading as this will remove the hairs from the follicle that are being targeted.

After the Treatment

The skin may appear pink, red and/or swollen immediately after treatment however this should reduce over 24 hours. We recommend you have tan free (real or fake) healthy skin on the area you wish to have treated and protect your skin by using sunscreen with an SPF of 40 or more.
