Acne skin disorders for some people can fuel anxiety, depression and other emotional and psychological problems. Self-esteem and quality of life may also suffer. But there are now effective treatments available to treat acne.

Acne is caused by the enlargement and obstruction of sebaceous glands by bacteria in the skin. These multiply deep in the hair follicle and produce inflamed pus-filled spots and cysts, which can appear on the face, chest, back, limbs and virtually any other parts of the body. Acne should be treated as soon as possible as acne is more likely to go on to scar if it is left untreated. Our Laser treatment is an extremely popular choice for those who want clear healthy looking skin again with permanent results.

Our Treatment

You will have a free consultation to discuss the best course of treatment for you and answer any questions you may have. After this we will perform a skin patch test to ensure that you will not suffer an adverse reaction to the treatment and will advise on the aftercare.

When you come for your first treatment you will have the procedure explained to you, and be provided with safety goggles to protect your eyes.

Cooling gel is applies before the treatment to sooth the skin. The treatment is very quick and you should start seeing results after just a couple of treatments. The frequency of the treatment is every 4 weeks.

How does it Work?

The energy from the Laser travels harmlessly through the epidermis and dermis until it strikes the bacteria. Laser treatments target the porphyrins produced as part of the normal metabolism of acne bacteria, and rapidly destroys the bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue on interaction. This destroys the acne bacteria in just a fraction of the time it typically takes for antibiotics to work, with extraordinary results. This treatment is generally three times faster than common antibiotics and topical treatments.

After the Treatment

The skin may appear red and swollen after the treatment, however this normally reduces within 24-48 hours. We recommend you have tan free skin before the treatment and protect the skin with SPF40 or higher.
